Hi EVula! What are your plans for the Volapük Wikipedia? Nothing but interwiki links?
Did you know, by the way, that there is a Proposal for Closing the Volapük Wikipedia? Maybe you could help us keep it by casting a vote there against this proposal -- if you think this is a good idea?... --Smeira 23:26, 23 tobul 2007 (UTC)

I've cast my vote for keeping the wiki open. Here's hoping we can keep it around.
As for my plans here, yeah, just interwiki link maintenance. I don't speak any languages other than English, sadly, but I don't let that stop me from helping out in my own way. :) EVula // gebanibespik // 18:47, 25 tobul 2007 (UTC)

Usually life here is pretty calm, but we've recently (today, actually about 6 hours ago...) had a vandal attack with changing IPs from Germany (all addresses beginning with 217.231; three of them I located in Berlin). Here's one example of what they did... Phew! I had never had this experience before. I had to learn (thanks to User:Spacebirdy) how do to a range block. It's over now, but it really made me see how some people react inappropriately to the work of others: if they don't like it, and can't convince many others not to like it either, then they just try to destroy it... (User:Siebrand said he'd bring the matter up with a steward. I wonder if there are other things I could do to make sure these people don't try it again. Probably not, sadly...). If you happen to know much about protecting a wikipedia against this kind of vandalism... let me know ;-) --Smeira 20:45, 25 tobul 2007 (UTC)

Bleh, I hate it when people put a wiki into their sights... it's so frustrating. I wish I wasn't so busy in real life, otherwise I could devote more time to RC patrol here. I'll go ahead bookmark Patikos:Recentchanges so I can swing by in my few spare moments. EVula // gebanibespik // 17:26, 5 novul 2007 (UTC)
I don't expect anything much now, just your usual individual vandalism (although one German guy tried to be smarter: he simply altered the population figures for three French cities, so that it didn't look like anything strange had happened... unless you looked close). That one time was probably the result of the German interwiki-haters not having succeeded in closing vo.wiki. This is something I really can't understand. OK, they don't like the interwikis, let them remove them; but some of them apparently get so angry at not being able to close the 'source of useless interwikis' that they have to go ahead and become vandals. And these are normal people, who do good work on their own Wikipedia (e.g. de:Benutzer:Decius (if you look on his talk page you'll see where I show how I identified him as a vandal), who likes Albania -- a country I myself also love -- and does a quite good job of taking care of articles on this topic in de.wiki). What a pity. --Smeira 18:44, 5 novul 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, when perfectly good editors start disrupting a project, it's always a tragedy. There are plenty of things that I may or may not like, but I'd never in a million years consider becoming a vandal. I just... no. It just isn't an option. :) EVula // gebanibespik // 17:49, 7 novul 2007 (UTC)
