Deutsch: Der Stadt Kerpen ist mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten in Köln (heute: Bezirksregierung Köln) vom 10.09.1976 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. „Gespalten und vorn geteilt, vorn oben in schwarz ein rotbezungter und bewehrter goldener Löwe; unten in silber ein rotbezungter, golden gekrönter und bewehrter, doppelschwänziger roter Löwe, hinten in Gold ein roter Turm mit Walmdach und offenem, schwarzen Fallgatter.“ Das Wappen entstammt einem Schöffensiegel aus dem Jahre 1306, welches auf die dynastisch territoriale Tradition hinweist. Es zeigt die Löwen Brabants und Limburgs sowie den Torturm der kaiserlichen Burg Kerpen.
English: „The arms were granted in 1938. The two lions are the combined lions of Brabant and Limburg, as the town was a possession of the Dukes of Brabant. The oldest seal which is known since 1306, showed the two lions in a quartered shield above a city wall. Later seals show only the patron saint, St.Martin. The tower in the new arms symbolises the Imperial castle built in the 12th century in the town.“
