Object history
Deutsch: Die Gründung der Stadt Hausach im Schutze der Burg und wohl begünstigt durch den Silberbergbau erfolgte im 13. Jahrhundert inmitten der dadurch in zwei Teile gespaltenen Gemarkung Einbach. Im 14. Jahrhundert kam Hausach an die Grafen von Fürstenberg, von denen der erste Freiheitsbrief für die Stadt stammt. Zeitweise war die Stadt Residenz einer fürstenbergischen Linie, 1806 kam sie an Baden. Am 1. Juli 1971 wurde Einbach eingemeindet. Das älteste Siegel- und Wappenbild, das erstmals in dem im 14. Jahrhundert geschnittenen und in Abdrucken seit 1453 belegten Stadtsiegel erscheint, zeigt ein Haus. Ist es zunächst als Fachwerkhaus abgebildet, so wird es in der Folge zum Steinhaus oder zum Steinhaus mit Fachwerkgiebel. Dieses Motiv steht „redend" für den Ortsnamen, dessen frühere Form Husen/Hausen lautete, und wird noch im Siegel von 1771 verwendet, wiewohl das Wappenbild bereits seit 1655 auch auf einen Fachwerkgiebel reduziert erscheint. Seit Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts hat sich diese Form des Wappens durchgesetzt.
